Himalayan Blue Granite

Himalayan Blue is formally classified as a grey-to-black Precambrian migmatite with pink-to-grey veining intermingled with grey quartz — a designation that distinguishes it from true igneous granites, though it is universally traded as granite in international markets. Its colour is a compound of dark brown and blue-grey, with reddish-brown and pink wave-like patterns running through the field — a surface character that originates from the oxidation processes the stone underwent over millions of years within its quarry formation.
